Managing and monitoring IBM i Migrate While Active
Managing and monitoring Migrate While Active varies greatly depending upon the migration stage.
The Db2® Mirror GUI puts the Migration Progress front and center, and is frequently a good place to start to understand the state of migration. Figure 1 shows the Db2 Mirror GUI. The center of the main screen includes a View Migration Progress action.
If you click on the View Migration Progress action, the circle in the center with the blue arrow, you see the dialog depicted by Figure 2.
From this dialog, you will see state and status detail for the current step. Depending upon the migration step, there will also be buttons that can be pressed to manage the migration. Most dialogs also include options to drill into job logs or to see extended details.
For the Continuous Data Synchronization step shown in Figure 2, synchronization could be stopped by pressing the Pause button. Alternatively, the Finalize button could be pressed to begin the transition to final synchronization and cutover.
