Using the operator panel for operations console service functions

Setting up an operations console as LAN attached may require using the operations console service functions. The operator panel functions for cycling through the service function options have changed for IBM® i 7.5. If you are on a system that has release IBM i 7.5, and perform the paired 65+21 functions that were used in prior releases, you may be changing something that you did not intend, such as clearing the console configuration.

In prior releases the operations console service functions required sequences of paired functions 65 and 21, often expressed as 65+21 in the documentation. In IBM i 7.5 release, the operator panel function 21 is no longer used after function 65 to cycle through the operations console service options. A series of function 65 alone will cycle through the options. Function 21 is now used only to perform a service function option.
