Creating a traffic regulation policy

To monitor for extensive network traffic that could potentially overload your system, you can create one or more intrusion detection traffic regulation policies. You can monitor for TCP, UDP or System TLS connections.

Prerequisite: You must have *ALLOBJ and *IOSYSCFG authority to work with intrusion detection policies.

Creating traffic regulation policies in IBM Navigator for i

To create traffic regulation policies in IBM® Navigator for i, perform these steps:
  1. Expand Security > Intrusion Detection.
  2. Click Manage Policies.
  3. Select New from the Actions menu.
  4. Select Create a new intrusion detection policy and click OK.
  5. Select Traffic regulation policy and fill in the other properties, including the traffic regulation thresholds, on the new traffic regulation policy.
  6. After you finish editing the new policy, click OK on the New Policy page to save the new policy.
