Securing ObjectConnect server using Transport Layer Security

With Transport Layer Security (TLS) you can eliminate the exposure of transmitting passwords and data in the clear when using the ObjectConnect server with an ObjectConnect client.

The ObjectConnect server provides enhanced security while sending and receiving objects over an untrusted network. ObjectConnect server uses TLS to secure passwords and other sensitive data during an information exchange.

Before you configure the ObjectConnect server, you must install the prerequisite programs and set up digital certificates on your system.

Note: Create a local certificate authority (CA) or use Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) to configure the ObjectConnect server to use a public certificate for TLS.
