Securing ObjectConnect

This topic describes how to secure ObjectConnect over IP.

  • If you use ObjectConnect over SNA, please refer to APPC, APPN, and HPR security to protect your data when copying with ObjectConnect over SNA.
  • If you use ObjectConnect for Db2® Mirror, please refer to Db2 Mirror to protect your data when copying with ObjectConnect for Db2 Mirror.

When you use your system as an ObjectConnect server or ObjectConnect client on the Internet, it is accessible to the entire world. Therefore, attention to ObjectConnect security is necessary to ensure that vital data stored on your system is not compromised.

ObjectConnect protects your data by Transport Layer Security (TLS) and the TLS is required to use ObjectConnect.

You can configure your ObjectConnect server to work with Object Connect client.
