Sending and installing fixes
Use IBM Navigator for i to send your IBM i fixes to remote systems and install them.
You can distribute some or all of the fixes that you receive
to a remote system with IBM Navigator
for i. However, you
must have the save files to distribute the fixes. If you receive PTFs
on media, you can use the Install PTFs function available from IBM Navigator
for i to install the
save files for the fixes onto your source system. If you already installed
the PTFs from media and the Copy PTFs (CPYPTF) service attribute was
set to *YES, the save files have already been placed onto your system.
- Expand IBM i Management > Configuration and Service > Program Temporary Fixes > PTFs.
- Navigate through the PTF tree until you locate the option that contains the fixes you want to send and install.
- Click on this option and select fixes you want to send and install in the work console place.
- Select “Send...” or “Send and Install...” in Actions dropdown and follow the wizard’s instructions to send and install fixes.
