Delete namespaces on the NVMe device

The IBM i disk unit associated with the NVMe namespace is destroyed, and the namespace storage is returned to the available pool in the NVMe device.

Follow these steps to delete namespaces on the NVMe device:

1. Start System Service Tools (STRSST), and specify the username and password. Or Start DST
2. Select Start a service tool
3. On the Start a Service Tool display, select Display/Alter/Dump
4. On the Display/Alter/Dump Output Device display, select Display/Alter Storage
5. On the Select Data display, select Licensed Internal Code (LIC) data
6. On the Select LIC Data display, select Advanced Analysis (option 14)
7. On the Select Advanced Analysis Command display:
   1. Type 1 in the Option field
   2. Type NVMEDELETENS in the Command field
   3. Press the Enter key
8. On the Specify Advanced Analysis Options display:
   1. Type -R followed by the Resource Name of the disk unit to be deleted
   2. Press the Enter key
