At the Add Media to BRM display, enter a unique six-character
or thirty-two-character (for optical volumes) name into
the Volume Identifier field. To add multiples,
the last characters of the volumes that you specify must be numeric
(for example, TAP01).
Note:
BRMS media inventory
requires a six-character volume serial. BRMS will use the Volume prefix specified on the System
Policy to generate a unique six-character name for BRMS
to use. This will be used in conjunction with the Volume
Identifier.
At the Media Class field, enter the media
class name of the volume you want to enroll. To select from a list
of available media classes, press F4.
Enter the total number of volumes you want to add in
the Number to add field. Though the Number to add field is large enough to contain
thirty-one digits, you can only enroll a maximum of 999 volumes
at one time.
Press F10 to review and change additional parameters as needed.
Press Enter to enroll the volumes.
BRMS provides
the capability to automatically enroll media detected by BRMS but
not found in the media inventory. You can specify the use of this
capability at the Auto enroll media parameter
on the Change System Policy display. You can specify automatic enrollment
for individual, stand-alone devices on the WRKDEVBRM command.
Note:
The Auto enroll media parameter
is not available on stand-alone optical devices.
