Analyze your integration, API, and events usage data so that you can plan and scale your projects in IBM® webMethods Hybrid Integration.

Resource units and usage charges

The number of resource units that you purchase for your subscription term are allocated in your subscription in the IBM SaaS Console.

Resource unit: A resource unit (RU) is a unit of measure by which software is licensed. You can purchase resource units at the start of your contract for a subscription and "burn down" or use the resource units over an agreed period. Resource units are used for base and usage charges. Each capability that you enable has a base charge per month. Within the capability, usage charges are applied to transactions.
Base charge: The base charge is a per-month charge for an enabled capability in your environment. For example, an instance of webMethods Integration is charged at 60 RU per month.
Usage charge: The usage charge is a charge for the number of transactions that are completed in each capability. Transactions can be API calls, integration transactions, or events. Transactions are priced in resource units for bundles of transactions per capability. For example, when you enable webMethods Integration, you use 60 RU per month plus 4 RU per 100,000 transactions, for the first 1 million transactions a year. For transactions over 1 million in the same year, the charge is 1 RU per 100,000 transactions.

Exploration period

Each capability includes a 7-day no charge exploration period the first time that it's enabled in a subscription. When you first add any of the capabilities to any environment in your subscription, you can use it without base or usage charges for up to 7 days. From the 8th day, or if you add the same capability to another environment in the same subscription, base and usage charges apply as described in the charging information section. You can choose to explore each capability in one environment, or split them across multiple environments in your subscription.

Note: After you add a capability with an exploration period to an environment, the no charge period for that capability begins and cannot be reset. For example, if you add API Connect and use only 3 days of the exploration period before you remove it, you cannot use the remaining 4 days later. The exploration period for API Connect will have expired.
