Changes in 2024 Update 7

View the features, enhancements, and fixes that became available in IBM® Hybrid Cloud Mesh 2024 Update 7 on 24 September 2024.

New features

This update of Mesh addresses bugs reported by internal teams and by our customers. These fixes improve the operation and stability of Mesh.

The following features are also included in this Mesh update:

  • The version of Red Hat® Service Interconnect that is installed when you deploy a gateway is now 1.4.4.
  • This Mesh update includes an update of the palmctl CLI. To use the new features and fixed issues, you must reinstall the palmctl CLI. For more information about how to install the CLI, see Installing the CLI.

Fixed issues

The following issues are fixed in this update:

  • Before this update, if a gateway had multiple inbound remote connections and the underlay network lost some connectivity, one or more of the remote gateways might be unable to automatically reestablish connectivity.
  • In the Mesh console topology view, if a service was deployed on another cluster, details of the service were not displayed in the policy connections diagram.
  • If you delete the infrastructure that hosts a gateway and don't delete the gateway from Mesh, the health status now shows as Not deployed. Before this update, if you deleted infrastructure such as the namespace or the entire cluster, Mesh showed the health status as Unreachable.
  • Before this update, it was possible to update the type of a cloud by using the palmctl update cloud command.
  • When you try to delete a default resource group, the correct cannot be deleted message is displayed. Before this update, an incorrect cannot be updated message was displayed.
  • If you use the palmctl CLI to try to delete a namespace that you cannot delete, the correct unable to remove namespace error message is now displayed.
  • You can now update the cost of a remote connection.
  • You can no longer add multiple instances of the same label to a cluster.
  • In the French language, on the window where you enter the service that you want a policy to connect to, the full title is now displayed.
  • The metrics that are shown in the Mesh console are now the same before and after you click the Refresh icon Refresh icon, unless new traffic flows occur.
