Changes in 2024 Update 6
View the features, enhancements, and fixes that became available in IBM® Hybrid Cloud Mesh 2024 Update 6 on 17 July 2024.
New features
After the Mesh update:
For this update of Mesh only, you might need to update any Open Horizon agents that were previously installed as part of a technology preview.
The following features are included in this Mesh update:
- Mesh now supports Red Hat® Service Interconnect
gateways. You can deploy these gateways from the Mesh console or CLI. Your applications
are discovered automatically after you deploy the gateway.
The following screen capture shows two Service Interconnect edge gateways on the Gateways list page.
- Any Kubernetes environment that is certified as part of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) Certified Kubernetes Conformance program is now supported by Mesh, including Microsoft Azure AKS and Google Cloud GKE.
- When you install the Open Horizon agent in Red Hat OpenShift®
Kubernetes Service and IBM Cloud® Kubernetes Service deployment environments, you can
now use the
ibmc-vpc-block-10iops-tier
storage class. If you use this storage class, you don't need to install the File Storage for VPC add-on. - Mesh agents are now upgraded automatically to ensure that the software and configuration of the agents is compatible with the Mesh Manager.
- In the Mesh console topology view, the number of logical connections between the
locations, deployment environments, partitions, or applications is displayed on the connection
lines.
The following screen capture shows that two logical connections are present between
location1
andlocation2
in the topology view.
Fixed issues
The following issues are fixed in this update:
- When autodiscovery runs, applications that you deleted from the cluster are now removed from the Applications page in the Mesh console.
- You can now have application services with the same names in different network segments.
- You can no longer delete the applications and services in a namespace while a Red Hat Service Interconnect gateway is deployed in that namespace.
- You can no longer create more than one cloud on a cloud account within a tenant. Before this update, a user was able to create two clouds with autodiscovery enabled on the same cloud account.
- The interval traffic metrics that are shown in the Mesh console are now consistent for a set of data. Before this update, the Mesh console might show different metric values for the same set of data. For example, the console might show different values for the timestamp and flow count metrics.
- A user that has

, andDelete
access to all clouds andDefault_Infrastructure_Group
resources can now view locations on the Locations page and the Cloud details page. Before this update, aNot authorized
message was shown on the Locations page.
