What's new in version 2.1.9

IBM® Hyper Protect Virtual Servers Version 2.1.9 (available 16 July 2024) introduces the following new features and enhancements:

Updated image

Note: IBM Hyper Protect Virtual Servers version 2.1.8 is removed from Passport Advantage. We recommend to use IBM Hyper Protect Virtual Servers version 2.1.9 or 2.1.8.2.

You can get the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime version 2.1.9 image from Passport Advantage. For more information, see Downloading the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime image.

As the encryption certificate has been rotated as part of the current release, re-create the contract with the new encryption certificate to be able to work with the current image.

Package update highlights:

The version 2.1.9 image is based on Ubuntu 22.04. Linux kernel is now 5.15.0-94.104 from previous release's 5.15.0-86.96. For other packages, the default versions that go with this kernel are included.

Update to Certificate expiry dates

Update to preparing the contract with a newer version of IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime image
