What's new in version 2.1.8.2

IBM® Hyper Protect Virtual Servers Version 2.1.8.2 introduces the following enhancements:

Updated image

Note: IBM Hyper Protect Virtual Servers version 2.1.8 and 2.1.8.1 will be removed from Passport Advantage and Fix Central. We recommend to use IBM Hyper Protect Virtual Servers version 2.1.8.2. All the Features which were available as part of 2.1.8 and 2.1.8.1 versions continue to be part of 2.1.8.2

You can get the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime version 2.1.8.2 image (fix pack) from IBM Fix Central. For more information, see Downloading the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime fix pack.

The version 2.1.8.2 image is based on Ubuntu 22.04. Linux kernel is at version 5.15.0-107.117. For other packages, the default versions that go with this kernel are included.

Note: Fix packs are available only on IBM Fix Central.

Update to Contract signature

Contract signature has the following updates:

  1. Update to Contract signature with base64 format
  2. Update to contract signature with certificate.

Update to preparing the contract with a newer version of IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime image

A newer version of IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime image is available now. For more information, see Preparing the contract .

Base64 support for the attestationPublicKey

Besides the plain text format and the encrypted attestation public key, you can also use its base64 format to encrypt the attestation document during the contract preparation. For more information, see Preparing the attestation.
