IBM® Hyper Protect Virtual Servers Version 2.1.6 (available 05 September 2023) introduces the following new features and enhancements:

Updated image

You can get the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime version 2.1.6 image from Passport Advantage. For more information, see Downloading the IBM Hyper Protect Container Runtime image.

Package update highlights:

The version 2.1.6 image is based on Ubuntu 22.04. Linux kernel is now 5.15.0-79.86 from previous release's 5.15.0-72.79. For other packages, the default versions that go with this kernel are included.

Support for customer-managed rolling or rotation of the seeds

You can now roll or rotate the seeds that are used in the contract to improve the security posture, or if the seed is compromised. For more information, see About the contract.
