Backing up data before migration
Any existing configuration data in your configuration
server will be automatically available in Host On-Demand Version 14 once installation is complete. Even if most of the installation
processes preserves any configuration data, it is recommended to back
up the following data prior to installation:
- /private directory
- all custom HTML files
- the /HODData directory
- NSMprop (if not default)
- the NCServiceManager start script, depending on your operating system
- the CustomizedCAs.p12 file from the Host On-Demand publish directory (for secure connections)
In addition, it can be helpful to back up the lib directory except for the .jar and .zip files. Files such as basedir.properties retain information used on the LDAP server, and any license management-related files can be transferred to the new server.
You should also back up any custom .jar files in the Host On-Demand publish directory for programmable Host On-Demand, as well as any text files and macros for Server Macro Libraries.
