047C
Specifies that characters contained in the Unicode character (CU-type) data constants (DCs) are to be converted using the ECECP: International 1 Unicode-3 mappings contained in module ASMA047C.
ccsid|X'xxxx'|xxxx
Specifies that characters contained in the Unicode character (CU-type) data constants (DCs) are to be converted using the Unicode mapping table module ASMAxxxx where xxxx is the hexadecimal value of the number of the ccsid (or code page) contained in the module. The code page number can be specified as a five-digit decimal number or as a four-digit hexadecimal number.

A four-digit number without quotes is assumed to be hexadecimal unless it matches a known decimal CCSID. A number of less than 4 digits will also be assumed to be decimal but will produce a warning.

LOCAL
LOCAL specifies that no external table is used, and that Unicode conversion will use a standard internal table to convert character data from the specified EBCDIC option.
Default
The standard default is CODEPAGE=047C (that is, 01148) for compatibility reasons, but the recommended value is LOCAL.
