Dates, where applicable, in the heading lines of update files
are in the format MM/DD/YYYY.
All do not process options, and DPLINE or CMPLINE process
statements are invalid when used with the process options UPDCMS8,
UPDMVS8, UPDSEQ0, UPDLDEL, and UPDPDEL. The do not process options
are cancelled with error notification ASMF014.
Update files are normally used as input to post-processing programs
and can be specified besides the normal listing output file.
On the following pages, descriptions and examples are given of
the contents of the update file produced for each of the update (UPD…)
process options.
In most of the examples shown, the same two input files are used.
The contents of the old file are shown in Figure 1.
The contents of the new file are shown in Figure 2.
