LDAP configuration

Import users to be used in groups by connecting Guardium® Insights SaaS to one or more Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) servers. This feature cannot be used for user authentication.

Before you begin

StandardPremium This feature is available only in the Standard and Premium editions of Guardium Insights SaaS.

To see the various settings, open the main menu. Open this menu by clicking the main menu icon (main menu)) After opening the menu, choose LDAP settings. Then, follow the procedure to complete the configuration.

Procedure

  1. Click Add LDAP connection.
  2. Specify a unique name for the LDAP connection. This name is used to distinguish the connection from other LDAP connections that you create in Guardium Insights SaaS.
  3. In the Base distinguished name (DN) field, enter the starting point for user searches.
    For example, dc=ibm,dc=com.
  4. Optional: In the Bind distinguished name and Bind distinguished name password fields, enter the credentials to authenticate to the LDAP directory.
  5. In the URL field, enter the LDAP directory domain name (or IP address) and the LDAP port number.
    For example, ldap://ldapserver.ibm.com:389.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Click Finish to create the LDAP configuration on Guardium Insights SaaS

What to do next

After you configure the LDAP connection, you can use it to import users to the group builder on Guardium Insights SaaS. For more information, see Managing groups.

You can also click the menu on the upper right of the card and select one of the following actions, if needed.
  • Select Edit to edit and save the connection's settings.
  • Select Enable to enable the connection.
  • Select Disable to disable the connection.
  • Select Delete to remove the LDAP connection.
