Export data from Guardium Data Protection systems

Before you begin

To export data from GuardiumĀ® Data Protection, connect one or more Guardium Data Protection central managers to Guardium Insights. For more information, see Connecting to Guardium Data Protection systems.

Attention: To use outliers information from connected Guardium Data Protection systems, you must enable non-historical data export (streaming) for those systems.

About this task

You can configure two types of data export from Guardium Data Protection to Guardium Insights: historical data and non-historical data.

Historical data

Historical data refers to aggregated data from Guardium Data Protection aggregators and central mangers configured to act as aggregators. Historical data includes things like full SQL, policy violations, and exception logs. Exporting historical data is a one-time operation that transfers data from a specified period of time.

Non-historical data
Non-historical data refers to non-aggregated data from Guardium Data Protection collectors and includes things like full SQL, policy violations, and exception logs. In addition, non-historical data also includes outliers information in the form of pre-calculated outliers or summarized outliers data, depending on the configuration of Guardium Insights outliers feature flags. Exporting outliers information is available for Guardium Data Protection aggregators, central managers configured to act as aggregators, and collectors. Once enabled, non-historical data export (streaming) is an ongoing process.

For more information about historical and non-historical data marts, see Guardium Data Protection data martsFor more information about Guardium Insights outliers feature flags, see Outliers feature flag.
