Configuring Prometheus

After you install Guardium® Insights, you can configure the Prometheus toolkit to collect system metrics.

Before you begin

Make sure that you installed Red Hat® OpenShift® version 4.6 or later.
Read the product documentation on the Prometheus website.

About this task

Prometheus is an open source systems monitoring and alerting toolkit that collects memory and CPU usage of mini-snif pods and mini-snif internal metrics. These system metrics are valuable to the support team to diagnose issues that are related to sniffer.

For user-defined projects, you must configure the retention period of metrics to be at least 15 days. For more information about how metrics are collected and stored, see the product documentation on the Prometheus website.
