Filtering dashboards

Individual dashboards contain various cards with multiple data points. You can filter a dashboard so that it displays similar data point values of your interest at a glance.

About this task

Version 3.4.x and later This content only applies to Guardium® Insights Version 3.4.x and later.

Use the following procedure to add filters on the dashboard.

Procedure

  1. Open an existing dashboard or create a new dashboard.
  2. Note: The filters are only applicable on the reports type of cards.
Add various cards to the dashboard.
  3. To add a filter for any data point value in the card, you can set a match condition. Click any data point value in any card and select the match conditions as follows:
    • String values:
      • Equal to: Choose this if you want the filter to include the exact data point value.
      • Not equal to: Choose this if you want the filter to exclude the exact data point value.
    • Numeric and date-time values:
      • Equal to: Choose this if you want the filter to include the exact data point value.
      • Not equal to: Choose this if you want the filter to exclude the exact data point value.
This causes the list of data points to narrow down to the data points values that matched your filter. The chosen filter is applied on all the Cards. The Edit filters section lists all the filters that are applied.
  4. To edit the applied filters, click each applied filter and update it using the Add or update filter value window.
    • String values:
      • Match pattern: Choose this to match the pattern by using the % wildcard character.
      • No pattern match: Choose this to exclude the pattern by using the % wildcard character.
      • Edit filter value: Choose this if you want to edit the actual data point value.
    • Numeric and date-time values:
      • Less than or equal to: Choose this to have the filter include data point values that are less than or equal to the data point value.
      • Less than: Choose this to have the filter include data point values that are less than the data point value.
      • Greater than or equal to: Choose this to have the filter include data point values that are greater than or equal to the data point value.
      • Greater than: Choose this to have the filter include data point values that are greater than the data point value.
      • Edit filter value: Choose this if you want to edit the actual data point value.
  5. To remove individual filters from the dashboard, click the X icon.
  6. To remove all the applied filters from the dashboard, click Clear filters from the Edit filters section.
