Upgrading IBM Tivoli Key Lifecycle Manager to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager 5.0

Upgrading IBM® Tivoli® Key Lifecycle Manager requires an interim upgrades to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager version 2.7. Then, to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager version 4.2 before you can upgrade to version 5.0.

Note: The procedure in this documentation considers interim upgrades to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager version 2.7 and 4.2.

Procedure

Complete the following steps:
  1. Review the supported upgrade path and determine the migration method. If the existing version is not at the minimum fix pack level, apply the latest fix pack for the version. See Supported upgrade paths and migration methods.
  2. Complete the following interim upgrades.
    1. To complete interim upgrade to v2.7, install IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 2.7. For steps, see https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/1164220#install.
      Note: IBM Security Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 2.7 is end of service (EOS).
    2. To complete interim upgrade to v4.2, install IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 4.2. For steps, see https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/SSWPVP_4.2/com.ibm.sklm.doc/install_guide/top/landing-install.html.
  3. Review and complete the pre-upgrade tasks. See Pre-upgrade tasks for IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager.
  4. Install IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V5.0.
    Depending on the mode that you want to use, see the topic:
  5. Migrate the data.
    1. Migrate the data from IBM Tivoli Key Lifecycle Manager to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V2.7,
    2. Migrate the data from IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V2.7 to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V4.2.
    3. Migrate data from IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V4.2 to IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager V5.0.
