Deleting a backup file

Use the graphical user interface to delete a backup file for IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager. For example, you might delete a backup file for which a business need no longer exists.

About this task

You can use the Backup and restore page to delete a backup file.

Your role must have the permission to back up files.

Note: Even after the backup file is deleted, the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager home page still shows the last backup information with the timestamp.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the graphical user interface.
  2. On the home page, click the menu icon (Menu icon) at the upper left of the page.
  3. Click Data redundancy > Backup and restore.
  4. On the Backup and restore page, select the backup file that you want to delete and click the overflow menu icon (Options).
  5. From the overflow menu options, click Delete.
  6. On the Delete backup window, click Delete backup.

What to do next

Examine the directory in which the backup files are stored to determine whether the specified file was deleted.
