About this task

Product overview

IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager provides the software and services to deploy key management solutions. This product helps companies automate the process of provisioning encrypted keys, either in a closed enterprise environment or across a virtual or extended enterprise.

You can install the product on distributed platforms with the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager traditional edition, and on container platforms with the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager container edition.

Procedure

  1. Access the software and documentation
    This product offering consists of IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 5.0.
    To obtain the product
    You can download the installation files, and for the container, you can obtain the license activation file from the IBM Passport Advantage® website at http://www.ibm.com/software/howtobuy/passportadvantage/pao_customers.htm.

  2. Evaluate the hardware and system configuration

  3. Install the product

    With the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager traditional edition, the following offerings are installed:
    • Runtime environment:
      • WebSphere Application Server Liberty, Version 24.0.0.9
      • IBM SDK Java™ Technology Edition, Version 8.0.8.30
    • Database: Db2 Standard Edition, Version 12.1.0.0
    • Application: IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 5.0
    With IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager container edition, the following offerings are installed:
    • Runtime environment:
      • WebSphere Application Server Liberty, Version 24.0.0.9
      • IBM SDK Java Technology Edition, Version 8.0.8.30
    • Application: IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 5.0
  4. Configure the product

  5. Get started
