IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager supports the following
methods for communicating with clients to manage and serve cryptographic objects:
- Key Management Interoperability Protocol (KMIP) - You can use KMIP operations for secure communication between the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager server and the self-encrypting devices that are KMIP-compliant. For example, IBM DS5000, IBM Spectrum® Scale, and other devices.
- IPP - Some client devices use IPP to communicate with the IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager server for serving cryptographic object and management operations. For example, DS8000®.
- IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager REST APIs - You can use IBM Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager REST APIs to manage and serve cryptographic objects for applications that support REST APIs. For example, cloud applications.
