Backup operation fails

The backup operation fails on the IBM® Security Guardium® Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 4.2.0.x system after you restore the backup file of IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager, Version 4.1.1.x multi-master cluster.

To resolve this problem, complete the following steps:
  1. Stop the IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager agent service. For more information, see Stop Agent.
  2. Stop WebSphere Liberty. For more information, see Starting, stopping, restarting WebSphere Liberty.
  3. Remove the data.synchronizing.backup.password.obf property from the SKLMConfig.properties file by using Delete Config Property REST Service.
  4. Start WebSphere Liberty. For more information, see Starting, stopping, restarting WebSphere Liberty.
  5. Run the backup operation again.
