Installing IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager as a system user on a Windows system

You can install IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager as a system user on a Windows system.

System user

System user is an identity that is used locally by the operating system and by services that are configured to sign in as LocalSystem. The system user is a hidden member of Administrators.

Prerequisites

Before you begin with the installation, complete these steps:
  1. Download the PsTools suite from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/pstools. The PSTools.zip file is downloaded.
  2. Extract the PSTools.zip file.
  3. Open a command prompt.
  4. Go to the directory where you extracted the PSTools.zip file.
    cd Download_Path\PSTools
  5. Run the following command:
    psexec -i -s cmd.exe
After you run the command, another command prompt opens as system user. To check whether the command prompt is running in the system account, run the following command:
    whoami
The output of the command must be:
    nt authority/system

On this command prompt, complete the installation steps.
