Installing IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager as a system user on a Windows system
You can install IBM Security Guardium Key Lifecycle Manager as a system user on a Windows system.
System user
System user is an identity that is used locally by the operating system and by services that are
configured to sign in as LocalSystem
. The system user is a hidden member of
Administrators.
Prerequisites
Before you begin with the installation, complete these steps:
- Download the PsTools suite from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/pstools. The
PSTools.zip
file is downloaded. - Extract the
PSTools.zip
file. - Open a command prompt.
- Go to the directory where you extracted the
PSTools.zip
file.cd Download_Path\PSTools
- Run the following command:
psexec -i -s cmd.exe
After you run the command, another command prompt opens as system user. To check whether the command prompt is running in the system account, run the following command:whoami
The output of the command must be:nt authority/system
On this command prompt, complete the installation steps.
