Configuring an SNMP trap

If your organization employs Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) for notifications, you can configure your SNMP server monitoring to include Guardium® Data Security Center alerts.

To see the various settings, open the main menu. Open this menu by clicking the main menu icon (main menu). After opening the menu, select Configurations > Integrations and then select the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap card.

Procedure

  1. After reading the About information, click Next.
  2. Enter a unique name for the integration in the Name field.
  3. Host: Enter the SNMP host name.
  4. Port: Enter the port for the SNMP host.
  5. Optional: Community: Enter the SNMP community password.
  6. Select the transfer protocol to use (by default, udp is used).
  7. Select your SNMP version (by default, v2c is assumed).
  8. After completing the configuration settings, click Test connection to ensure that the Guardium Data Security Center can connect to the SNMP trap.
  9. After testing the connection, click Finish to save the SNMP configuration and create the integration.
