Comparing discovery and classification results
Compare results from different runs of the same discovery and classification process.
Procedure
-
Open the audit process to-do list and click View to open the results of
a classification process. For more information, see Audit Process To-Do List.
- From the results window, click Compare with other results to open the results-comparison dialog.
- From the results-comparison dialog, complete the following
steps:
- Select the timestamp of another set of results from the same process. The results that you select here are compared to the results of the process selected in step 1.
- Define what to show in the comparison when the display threshold is
exceeded: Use the If there are too many results, view only the following control and select one of the following options:
- Rows unique to the new results means that the report includes only rows unique to the new results, and all other results are ignored.
- Rows unique to the earlier results means that the report includes only rows unique to the earlier results, and all other results are ignored.
Important: The maximum display threshold is 1000 rows. If this threshold is exceeded, only the rows that are indicated by the If there are too many results, view only the following setting are displayed: unchanged rows are not displayed. To change this threshold, use the modify_guard_param API to edit the COMPARE_MAX_ROW_THRESHOLD value. - Click Go to open the results-comparison view.
- Select the timestamp of another set of results from the same process.
- Work with the information presented in the results-comparison
view.
- Summary of the results that are being compared, including a timestamp and row count for each process.
- Count of rows that are unique to the results for each process.
- Count of the rows that are unchanged between the two processes that are being compared.
- Three tables that show results that are unique to the new process, results that are unique to
the earlier process, and results that are unchanged between the two processes.Remember: If the display threshold is exceeded, only the rows that are indicated by the If there are too many results, view only the following setting are displayed: unchanged rows are not displayed.
