Distributing configurations
Configurations and their schedules, can be distributed, either all or individually, between the central manager and the managed units.
Procedure
- Select the managed units that receive the configurations.
- Click Distribute Configurations to display the Distribute Configurations window.
- Check the appropriate boxes for the configurations that you want to distribute. Use the check box in the header to select all configurations.
- Check the appropriate boxes for any schedules that you want to distribute. Use the check box in the header to select all schedules. If a configuration is not scheduled, the check box is not available.
- Click Distribute to distribute the configurations and schedules.
What to do next
After you distribute the configuration, you might need to either reboot or restart any managed units that you have updated.
- Alerter
- Reboot managed units.
- Anomaly Detection
- Restart managed units.
- Session Inference
- Restart managed units
- Results Export, System Backup, Data Archive, Result Archive, and Data export
- No restart or reboot needed. The configuration is distributed automatically.
- Global profile
- No restart needed. However, using a different named template applies only when policy is
installed.Note: When you distribute the configuration for the global profile, the following values are distributed:
