The CHART call

In Version 1, the only way to access the ICU was to use the CHART call. This call is still available, but it is not such a flexible method of invoking the ICU as the CSxxxx calls are. It cannot exploit the new features of the ICU. In particular, you CANNOT use it to:
  1. Construct multiple charts
  2. Replace data
  3. Set or override chart format items
  4. Interrogate the data or format of an existing chart
  5. Interrogate the data or format of a chart during an interactive session
  6. Access sequential data files
  7. Interrogate a directory of GDDM objects.
Additionally, you cannot pass z-axis data in the CHART call. This limits your scope for drawing tower charts.
