Sending output from an application to a printer

GDDM V3R2 Base Application Programming Guide
SC33-0867-01

You can print output from an application by issuing one of the GDDM output calls while a printer is in use as the current primary or alternate device. The way this printing is done, however, is determined more by the DSOPEN call that opens the print device than by the call that sends the output to it. Most of this topic is concerned with opening print devices prior to sending the output.
