Increasing the storage quota for a client cluster

Use this procedure to increase the storage quota of a client cluster to meet the storage capacity requirements.

About this task

To understand the storage quota requirements, consider the following points:
  • Watsonx (AI workload) uses more storage in run time.
  • OpenShift virtualization must be deployed within the quota limit.
  • Virtualized Hosted Content Plane (HCP) must be deployed within the quota limit.
  • Bare metal HCP must be deployed within the quota limit.
Important: If the storage quota for a client cluster is unlimited or a client cluster is onboarded with the unlimited storage quota, modifying the storage quota from unlimited to custom is not possible.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the OpenShift web console.
  2. Go to Storage > Storage clients.
  3. On the Storage clients tab, click the ellipsis menu next to the client cluster that you want to increase the storage quota for and click Edit storage quota.
  4. In the “Edit storage quota” dialog, increase the storage quota value in the Allocate quota field.

You can see the available storage capacity of the provider cluster as a reference in the upper right corner.

Important: You can not decrease the storage quota. Assign a quota higher than the current allocation.
  5. Click Save changes.

Results

The storage quota is increased for the client cluster.
