Provider mode approach
Fusion Data Foundation can be configured to run in Provider mode and Fusion Data Foundation client can connect to it and create storage classes that can be used by workloads.
Provider mode approach can be effectively used in one of the following scenarios:
- When the storage consumption follows a hub and spoke paradigm where a Fusion Data Foundation provider acts as a hub providing multi-tenancy and multiple Fusion Data Foundation client clusters connect to it as spokes.
- When isolation of shared file and block storage per client cluster is required.
- When management of storage and applications is done by separate teams. For example, when a storage administrator manages the Fusion Data Foundation provider cluster and an application administrator manages the Fusion Data Foundation client cluster.
