Generating additional access key for an IAM user

Learn how to generate an additional access key for an IAM user. You can generate one additional access key for the IAM user. IAM users can generate additional access key for themselves.

Before you begin

  • Administrators: Administrator access to IBM Fusion Data Foundation.
  • Developers: Logged in to the object browser using secret namespace and secret name. For more information see Accessing the object browser.
  • Ensure that the selected storage endpoint (MCG or RGW) is deployed and its pods are healthy.

Procedure

  1. In the OpenShift Web Console, navigate to Storage > Object Storage.
  2. From the Storage endpoint selector, choose MCG or RGW.
  3. Click the IAM tab.
  4. Select the IAM user for whom you want to generate access key.
  5. On the user details page, click the Access keys tab.
    The existing access key cards are displayed.
  6. Click Generate another access key.
  7. Optional: Enter a description for the new access key.
  8. Click Generate.
    The newly generated access key card is displayed.

Results

The additional access key is generated and displayed in the Access keys tab.
