Configuring Content-Aware Storage (CAS)

This section provides instructions for configuring CAS.

Do the following step to configure CAS from the IBM Fusion user interface:
Tip: Starting from CAS v1.1.1, CAS installation automatically configures the Kafka broker connection on IBM Storage Scale.
You can also configure CAS service using CLI. For more information about CLI usage, see Configuring Content-Aware Storage (CAS) through CLI.
Note: Before you begin the configuration, ensure you have met all the prerequisites and installed CAS successfully. For the procedure to install, see Installing Content-Aware Storage (CAS).
Quick start to configuration:
Note: If the Getting started with CAS section is not available, it indicates that all the prerequisites are not met.
  1. In the IBM Fusion user interface, go to Content-Aware Storage > Overview.
  2. In the Jump right in section, you can click the following tiles to quick start configuration to streamline data preparation, chunking and delivery to embedding or inference systems:
    • Connect a data source
    • Create a domain
    • View Search APIs
  3. To view the percentage completion of the configuration, do the following steps:
    1. In the Jump right in section, click Getting started with CAS tile.
    2. A side panel opens with the status of the following Data ingestion:
      • Connect a data source
      • Create a domain
      • View Search APIs
