Enabling or suspending versioning of objects in a bucket by using MCG object browser

Learn how to enable or suspend object versioning in a bucket by using the Multicloud Object Gateway (MCG) object browser to manage historical versions and control data retention in MCG buckets.

Before you begin

  • Ensure that you have administrator access to Fusion Data Foundation.
  • Ensure that the MCG cluster is deployed and noobaa-endpoint-* pod is running in the MCG namespace.

Procedure

  1. In the OpenShift® Container Platform web console, click Storage > Object Storage.
  2. Click the Buckets tab.
  3. Select a bucket for which you need to enable versioning for the objects.
  4. Click the Properties tab.
  5. Toggle Versioning to Enabled if you want to enable versioning or switch to Disabled if you want to suspend versioning of objects.
  6. Click Enable or Suspend to confirm depending on your versioning selection.
    Remember: You need to update the lifecycle rules after enabling versions.
