Creating the FusionAccess CR

Use the instructions to create a FusionAccess CR.

Before you begin

Make sure that you have the following prerequisites:

  1. Access to the cluster as a user with the cluster-admin role.
  2. Install the IBM Fusion Access for SAN operator and created the ibm-fusion-access namespace in the process. For more information about the procedure, see Installing IBM Fusion Access for SAN operator.
  3. Create a Kubernetes pull secret. For more information about the procedure, see Creating a Kubernetes pull secret.

About this task

Create a FusionAccess CR that triggers the installation of the correct version of IBM Storage Scale and detects worker nodes with shared Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs).

Procedure

  1. Log in to the OpenShift® Container Platform web console.
  2. Go to Operators > Installed Operators.
  3. Click the IBM Fusion Access for SAN operator you installed.
  4. In the Fusion Access for SAN page, select the Fusion Access tab.
  5. Click Create FusionAccess.
  6. On the Create FusionAccess page, enter the object Name.
  7. Optional: You can choose to add Labels if they are relevant.
  8. Select the IBM Storage Scale from the drop-down list.
    This version is the same version that used to be installed in the IBM Fusion Access for SAN operator.
  9. Click Create.
  10. Verify whether the FusionAccess CR is created successfully.
    1. Go to Fusion Access tab in the Fusion Access for SAN operator page.
    2. Check that the created FusionAccess CR appears with the status Ready.
