High availability cluster
This section answers questions related to high availability cluster in IBM Storage Fusion HCI System.
-
- Does IBM Storage Fusion HCI System support multi-rack deployment? How many nodes do I get with multi-rack setup?
- You can connect multiple IBM Storage Fusion HCI System appliances to create a single large OpenShift® Container Platform or IBM Storage Scale ECE cluster. For example, a three rack cluster has a minimum of 18 nodes ( 6 per rack) up to the maximum of 48 (16 nodes per rack).
-
- What is the number of racks required for IBM Storage Fusion HCI System multi-rack setup?
- In general, a multi-rack set up can be either 2 or 3 racks. The HA Multi-rack configuration requires 3 racks.
-
- Can I scale beyond 16 nodes for IBM Storage Fusion HCI System, by adding more racks, network switches & nodes?
- Yes, you can combine 2 or 3 racks into a single cluster.
-
- What is the maximum allowed latency between the two sites of a storage network in a Metro sync DR setup?
- 40 milliseconds is the maximum allowed latency between the two Metro-DR sites.
-
- Where do the control nodes reside in multi-rack configuration?
- If it is an expansion configuration, then the control nodes are in the first rack. For the case of HA multi-rack, the installation process distributes the OpenShift Container Platform control nodes, one in each rack.
