Network cable and transceiver options

This topic has general network cable requirements.

Note: IBM Storage Fusion HCI System does not include any cables or transceivers for connecting the system to any other switches. Cables and transceivers must be ordered separately.
Network cable requirements

You must connect either or both ports 31 or 32 on the high-speed switch of the IBM Storage Fusion hardware appliance to your data center. The supported speeds are 10, 25, 40, 100 GbE. The high-speed switches are 100 GigaBit ports and you might need a special splitter (breakout or fan-out) cable or QSFP to connect IBM Storage Fusion appliance's switches to your data center switches. You can purchase DAC/AOC/QSFP and fiber cables to make the connection. Discuss with your network administrators or consult an IBM Support representative before you purchase the cables (minimum of 2) and keep them ready before the appliance arrives at your premises. If you plan to use both 31 and 32 ports, then you must purchase four cables.
