Adding links

As part of your network configuration, you can add links based on the VLANs that you defined in the VLANs section.

If you are using a multi-rack setup, you must manage your Alternative network configuration and the links. The Add link page is not available for you.
Important: Ensure that you add links in a sequential order, and do not add multiple links at a time.
  1. Click Infrastructure > Network.
    The Network page is displayed.
  2. Click Links tab to open it.
  3. Click Create link.
The Add link slide out pane gets displayed.
  4. Provide the link details.
    • Link name
Specify a name in Link name to uniquely identify a link.
    • Port
Select one of the available options from the Port list. The port selection is made on both switches. You can select more than one port.
    • Port type
Select Access or Trunk from the Port Type list. The Access port provides access to a single VLAN only.
Important: Always choose Trunk as port type. Select Access only when the uplink switch is not VLAN aware.
    • Transceiver
Select one of the available options from the Transceiver list. The transceiver defines the speed and wire type to be used for the link.
    • Aggregation
Select one of the available options from the Aggregation list.
    • VLANs
Select one or more VLANs from the VLANs list. You can assign multiple VLANs from this multi-select label list. The Default Native list is populated with the selected VLANs. The Internal Storage VLAN option is available to externalize local storage.
    • Native VLAN
Select native VLAN whenever the port type is Trunk.
  5. Click Save to apply your changes and to add the link.
You can see the new record in the Links table of the Network page. For more information, see Switch details.
