Installing services

In the service-based IBM Fusion HCI , choose the features that you want to deploy.

For an overview on each of these services, see Fusion services.

As an administrator, you can install or enable the required services from the user interface, but make sure you meet the resource requirements of individual services.

In the Available section of the Services page, first install and configure Data Foundation service or Global Data Platform service as your storage. You can install Additional services only after you configure storage.

IBM Fusion supports preferred storage class selection during service installation by allowing each service to define an ordered list of storage classes in its FSD. The IBM Fusion UI reads this list, automatically selects the preferred storage class that exists in the cluster, and proceeds with installation without user input. If none of the preferred storage classes are available, the UI enables manual selection and records the user’s choice in the service FSD.

You can also manage the upgrade of these IBM Fusion services from the user interface. For steps to upgrade in IBM Fusion HCI, see Upgrading IBM Fusion HCI services.
Note: All IBM Fusion services are supported on the Bare Metal platform of IBM Fusion HCI.
