Managing virtual machines on Bare Metal Hosted Control Plane cluster

In a Bare Metal Hosted Control Plane cluster, you create, delete, manage, clone, and monitor virtual machines.

  1. Provision a Bare Metal Hosted Control Plane cluster. For the procedure, see Deploying Bare Metal clusters with Fusion Data Foundation.
  2. Install Fusion Data Foundation service. See Installing Fusion Data Foundation on a Hosted Control Plane cluster.
  3. Install OpenShift Virtualization operator.

For the procedure to install OpenShift Virtualization operator, see Deploying Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Operator.

  4. After the cluster is available, deploy virtual machines on it. You can deploy VMs using default or custom sizes based on resource needs. For more information about the steps to create virtual machines from OpenShift console, see Red Hat documentation.
  5. After the VMs are in running state, manage their lifecycle, such as clone, monitor, and decommission tasks.

For more information about these management tasks, see Creating a virtual machine by using Clone PVC and Deleting virtual machines Red Hat Documentation.
