IBM Fusion HCI rack ordering options

The IBM Fusion HCI offers two hardware configurations options that you can order based on your requirements: a rack-based system and a client provided rack.

Rack-Based System

The rack based IBM Fusion HCI includes an R42 unit rack, with nodes, switches, and Power Distribution Units (PDUs) pre-stacked and per-wired at the factory. To begin the installation, you only need to connect your data center network to the high-speed switch. This configuration ensures minimal setup effort at your premises and streamlines deployment.

Client provided rack

In this client provided rack option, you must provide the rack and PDUs. However, you can also order the PDUs from IBM. A technical assessment is essential to ensure compatibility of your rack and PDUs for seamless integration. IBM provides the nodes, switches, and network cables to connect the nodes and switches. The IBM Service Support Representatives (SSR) does the assembly at your premises.
