Activating Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform subscriptions purchased from IBM

If you purchased your Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform subscription from IBM, then you must activate your OpenShift subscription with Red Hat and activate OpenShift support with IBM.

About this task

IBM Fusion HCI base cluster can be used with any of the four distributions of OpenShift: Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Engine (OVE), OpenShift Kubernetes Engine (OKE), OpenShift Container Platform, or OpenShift Platform Plus (OPP). For more information about the subscriptions, see Red Hat OpenShift distributions.

Procedure

  1. Activate your OpenShift subscription with Red Hat.
Open an account in the Red Hat Customer Portal: https://access.redhat.com/. If you already have an account, you do not need to open a new account.

Contact Red Hat at openshift-orders@redhat.com, requesting OpenShift subscription activation. Provide your Red Hat Customer Portal id and IBM Software Order number for your OpenShift purchase in the email.

You can find the Order Number on your purchase invoice. The Order Number can be a 6-character number, and it can be similar to the following sample formats:
    • LCxxxx
    • LDxxxx
    • A3xxxx
    • A4xxxx
  2. Activate OpenShift support with IBM.

Complete the following steps to accept the IBM support agreement:

    1. Access the Agreements for IBM Software Support Services website - www.ibm.biz/tss-agreements. On the website, select the Agreement for IBM Support for Commercial Open Source for the country or region in which the software is installed (Agreement).
    2. Print and read the Agreement. The Agreement terms govern the Service. By your ordering, making payment for, or using the Service, you accept the terms and Agreement without modification. Service becomes subject to this Agreement when IBM or your IBM Business Partner accepts your order or payment.
