Sharing data

Active file management (AFM) is a scalable, high-performance, file system caching layer, and enables sharing of data across clusters, even if the networks are unreliable or have high latency.

Use IBM Fusion HCI as a cache cluster. For AFM, you also need a home cluster. To set up a home cluster, see Setting up the home cluster.

The subsections provide insights on how you can work with Active file management (AFM) volume management in IBM Fusion HCI.
