Failback applications from the mirrored site to the original site

In a Metro-DR setup, application failback involves the process of restoring applications and virtual machines back to the original site.

About this task

You failback after a failover operation completes successfully and the primary site is restored from disaster. It helps ensure minimal disruption to the business operations and allows for the gradual migration of workloads back to the original site.

Note: If you plan to failover virtual machines, also see Disaster recovery for virtual machines.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the original site of the application.
  2. Go to the Replicated applications page.
  3. Select one or more applications marked with Relocate icon symbol and click Failover.
  4. Click Actions > Failover.
  5. In the Failover remote applications window, select the applications and click Failover.
A success notification is displayed on the screen.
