Compute-only and compute-storage server model servers

Lenovo hardware offers two server models to support various workload requirements: the 9155-C10 and 9155-C14.

Compute only servers

Compute-only nodes are designed for applications that require high processing power and can utilize external storage solutions. These nodes are ideal for workloads that depends on shared storage or have low storage requirements. The available compute only nodes are 9155-C10 and 9155-C14.

Compute-storage servers

Compute-storage nodes, on the other hand, combine processing power with integrated storage, providing a self-contained solution for applications that require both compute and storage resources. This configuration is suitable for workloads that require low-latency access to data or have high storage demands. The available compute-storage nodes are 9155-C10 and 9155-C14.
Important: Each 9155-C10 and 9155-C14 server can have a minimum of two storage drives that can be increased up to a maximum of ten storage drives.

You can have either six 9155-D10 or 9155-D14 nodes with storage as a minimum configuration, and also you can expand your IBM Fusion HCI beyond the minimum six servers by adding combinations of models D10 and D14. Each rack can support up to 16 servers.

  • 1x Intel I350 1GbE RJ45 4-port OCP Ethernet Adapter
  • 2x 960GB M.2 NVMe OS drives (RAID 1)

As you add servers to the system, they are also added to the storage cluster, increasing the total storage capacity. All added servers are combined into a Red Hat® OpenShift® Container Platform. This means that all applications running on IBM Fusion HCI System are deployed and run within the OpenShift cluster.
