The IBM Storage Scale file system is
not showing the newly added file system size after adding six nodes as upsize.
About this task
A system with a single recovery group (setup with 4+2p erasure code) needs to do node upsizing
with six nodes all together.
Procedure
-
Follow the steps to upsize nodes:
- Follow the standard node upsize process. For more information, see Configuring nodes for management.
- IBM Fusion HCI user interface shows the
Running state for the newly added nodes.
- In the IBM Fusion HCI user interface, use
the app switcher to go to the IBM Storage Scale
user interface.
- Click Recovery groups on the IBM Storage Scale RAID tile.
The entry for
the recovery group server nodes column shows up empty. If true, perform the following steps.
Otherwise, contact the
IBM
support .
- Edit the labels of newly added nodes, change the label
scale.spectrum.ibm.com/rg: rg1
to scale.spectrum.ibm.com/rg:
rg2
.
- Repeat the following process for each newly added node.
- Open the OpenShift® Container
Platform user interface.
- Go to .
- Remove the label
scale.spectrum.ibm.com/rg: rg1
and add the label
scale.spectrum.ibm.com/rg: rg2
.
- Click Save.
- Follow the steps to validate the upsized nodes:
- In the IBM Fusion HCI user interface, use
the app switcher to go to the IBM Storage Scale
user interface.
- Click Recovery groups on the IBM Storage Scale RAID tile.
- Click the entry of the recovery group server nodes column for rg2.
- Check all the newly added nodes are listed and in healthy state.
- Create a sample PVC to check that storage can be provisioned.
