Firmware upgrade

Firmware for all nodes is automatically kept up to date each time you upgrade the IBM Fusion operator. Firmware updates are applied automatically in the background. Firmware updates for switches are orchestrated by IBM Fusion, but require a manual step to trigger the update.

Note:

Power operations must not be performed on any node in the cluster during a firmware upgrade.
IBM Fusion HCI manages firmware upgrades for both switches and nodes in a rolling fashion, ensuring that there is a minimal impact to the Red Hat® OpenShift® cluster during the upgrades. Firmware update for switches happens one at a time.
